Dear Amar,
You have made up your mind, so what is stopping you from taking the plunge? Considering that your mum has broached the subject, it is the ideal time to tell her that there is someone on the scene. She may react but you have to gently pursuade her to realise where your happiness lies. It will not be easy and you will need loads of patience. Nowadays there are a lot of inter-community marriages, so it is no big deal. Your mum will agree but it will take a while. So instead of rushing in and making elopement plans, aim to get your mum agree to the alliance. Best of luck.
