Recent research shows that men who have regular sex can reduce their risk of developing erectile dysfunction, reports the The Sun.

The five year study, published in the American Journal of Medicine, analysed 989 Finnish men aged 55 to 75 years old.


It found that men who make love once a week have twice the risk of erectile dysfunction compared to those who indulge in steamy sessions three times a week.



But that's not the only reason to have a good session. Here are some more good reasons to romp, as stated by The Sun.

Lose weight: Forget sweating it out at the gym - sex works every muscle group in the body, is great cardio-vascular exercise and will help you burn 300 calories an hour.

Stress relief: Getting horizontal can help banish the burdens of a hard day by increasing levels of the cuddle chemical oxytocin, which helps stimulate feelings of warmth and relaxation.

Enhance performance: Female athletes who had sex the night before an event performed better the next day, according to a study by the Norwegian University of Sport.

Scientists claimed the women felt more self-confident and relaxed than usual.

Sex keeps you looking and feeling younger, and helps lead to shiny hair and a glowing complexion thanks to the increased output of oestrogen and other hormones.
