During her visit to UP, Bahaar said meanderings through art reflect explorations, concerns and most important, commitments of an artist. "My interactions/ lecture with the students in the NGO and Madrassa in Varanasi opened floodgates with respect to position of women in UP, India," she said.
A part-time painter, Bahaar's paintings speak deeply about how she feels as an artist. During her stay at Hyatt Regency in Delhi, Bahaar felt wonderful "gliding into the static studio mode after all the traveling/ painting on the go".
She said, however, the spa junkie in her needed recovery for the battered body and all the uneven tan.
Once again, talking about her experience in Delhi, the artist who seemed to enjoy her time in the pool said, "I swear I could stay here, all day every day and maybe someday paint laws of refraction!"
Bahaar is fearless and uses a range of different mediums. Each canvas is brought to life under Bahaar's artistic strokes, which are bold, visceral and dramatic. Each piece of art is unique and her style extremely versatile. After years of practicing law, she has developed an innate sense of storytelling through her works.
According to her art website, the process and genesis behind Bahaar’s art works have spanned both directions and has been emotionally cathartic.
To say that her art works are a culmination of her journey in life thus far; is not understatement but a solemn truth.
"My paintings are an outcome of the marriage of very different disciplines, law and the freedom of an artist detached from straightjacket of definition and boundaries," she says on her website.
Being honest about her passion, she further adds, "While my legal training entailed being unidirectional and concise, often my mind would manifest itself with vigorous intensity leading to abstract expressionism".
She describes her quest as one that goes beyond form, yet pulsates with an awareness of a larger order, ocassionally revealing gleaming epiphanies.
Bahaar’s art traverses various boundaries from abstracts to animals and women. Each of the work that she creates takes you into a trance yet leaves you fulfilled with inner bliss.
The range of expression clearly demonstrate that her art knows no boundaries, no silver linings yet the recourse to what we face every day is so recognizable.
Each of her work is a reflection of her energetic personality, which is experimental and spontaneity.
In this photo, she talks about the best advice she received recently, "Accept the dark in others and embrace the dark within, close your eyes - expose your soul and just hit the road." .
Connecting with everything that resides within, is a part of the natural order of who we are. Definitely not a problem to be solved; it is a mystery to be faced. It has the power to connect us to the depths of our own imaginations. They are just that—parts. They are not the sum of who we are. However, without the awareness and acceptance, we can't control or change anything. Have compassion for the perceived "worst" parts of yourselves and others, and everything becomes better.
During her trip to Italy, she said,"The only thing better than talking about food, is eating."
