The Moment of Silence podcast hosted by influencers Naina Bhan and Sakshi Shivdasani on YouTube just dropped the ultimate tea with comedian Sumukhi Suresh. From manifesting a Lovergirl era for 2026, to casual dating, they managed to cover good ground

The recent episode of the podcast, Moment of Silence, by Naina Bhan and Sakshi Shivdasani, along with comedian Sumukhi Suresh, covered the basic question, ‘What do women actually want?’, particularly when it comes to navigating through the modern chaos called casual dating, or the definition of a quintessential good Bumble date. This episode featured Sumukhi Suresh, a comedian who has mastered the art of candidly oversharing enough to make you feel relatable.

The episode started with Bhan and Shivdasani asking Suresh if she is in her Lovergirl era (in modern dating slang, a phase where you want to fall in love and enjoy being in a relationship), to which she replied, “Yes, I’m slowly manifesting my Lovergirl era for 2026, and to begin with that, I’m sending signals out there. It’s not about deciding it, but for me it is about declaring it publicly.” The episode deep-dove into the power of manifestation, an active step, which lets you put yourself out there and gives you a certain sort of confidence.

“In the modern dating era, confidence is key, and that comes from casually dating someone to a point where you realise what you like and what you don’t like. The sheer courage the casual dating phase gives you is a much-needed push for a woman, as it is game-changing,” Shivdasani emphasised.  Despite the episode being powered by an online dating app where only women are allowed to make the first move, the hosts and Suresh didn’t shy away from shaming the Indian dating scene on dating apps, while comparing them to what it would be like abroad, where the concept of the woman approaching the situation is more ideal or somewhat common, as that gives women a much-needed head start.

“But abroad, I will not be able to have my Tumse Milke Dilka Jo Haal Kya Karein moment (a reference from the film Main Hoon Na, where actor Shah Rukh Khan gets a glimpse of actress Sushmita Sen wearing traditional attire for the first time),” Shivdasani said, stressing on the importance of ‘dressing well’ for your first date, and that Chikankari kurta for boys and men should be banned or strictly prohibited, to say the least.

The podcast shared casual moments asking the fundamental question: What is the definition of effort in love, and how would it differ from person to person? The general consensus said that effort goes beyond gestures; for women it is about the initial tension, building trust, the Bridgerton (a Netflix series that is set in 1800s Britain)-style yearning, and at the end of the day, getting butterflies while thinking about the person. While talking about efforts, the trio also touched upon ‘red flags’, especially since Suresh was age-shamed by a person she was previously involved with.

The golden first-date rule? “Do your KYC first, and that too with a government ID,” Sumukhi shouted, as growing cases of catfishing on dating apps make women feel unsafe, ambushed, or even deceived. While talking about catfishing, she also touched upon the infamous 2002 movie Mujhse Dosti Karoge! which brought light to catfishing as a concept, as Raj falls for Tina after their friendship blossoms via email exchanges. However, he is unaware that Tina’s best friend, Pooja, is the one writing these mails, to which Sakshi jokingly said, “Ladko ka chakkar, Maut se takkar,” translating to, “Dealing with boys is a risky game when it comes to dating.”

The episode beautifully came together, and felt more like an after-work therapy-gossip session with your girlfriends, while seated in a group, creating a safe space for manic rants and dangerous advice, all while navigating relationships and providing the emotional support every woman needs in these times.
