Belur (WB): An 18-year-old girl was today set on fire allegedly by a jilted lover here in Howrah district, police officials said.
The girl was doused with kerosene before a burning match-stick was thrown on her, allegedly by a local youth in her house at about 8.30 AM.
Hearing the girl's scream, locals rushed inside the house and took her to a nearby hospital. The class XII student has suffered about 25 per cent burns, police said, adding, the youth, however, fled from the spot.
