A man in Odisha was arrested Sunday for having burnt his wife to death after quarreling with her.

A man was arrested for allegedly burning alive his wife and dumping the body in a well in Odisha's Sundargarh district, police said today.

Gita Haiburu (35) and her husband Janesh (43) of Burudi village under Tangarpalli police station used to often fight over various issues.

During one such quarrel on the night of October 25, Janesh poured kerosene on his wife and set her on fire, sources said adding he then dumped the body in a well near his house.

On October 27, the villagers spotted the body in the well.

Janesh was arrested Sunday after he confessed to his crime.u00a0
