Ahmedabad: Police today arrested a man for molesting a tribal girl working in his office in Vyara town of Tapi district after video of the act went viral on social networking sites.
"Tapi police today arrested Ajay Rajput for molesting a girl employee at his office," district superintendent of police M K Nayak said. "Rajput runs an NGO, 'Navnirman trust', in Vyara, for the uplift and education of tribal community," he said. The purported video shows both Rajput and the victim girl, and was allegedly shot by another woman in his office.
Manisha Solanki, member of Adivasi Kisan Sangharsh Morcha, a local organisation, had earlier today met the police over the incident.
The process of registration of FIR is on, and the police had traced the woman who allegedly shot the video but she has not been arrested yet, the DSP said.
