In a tragic incident, a 37-year-old woman was allegedly murdered by her husband following a domestic dispute in Behrampada, Bandra East, on Wednesday. The husband later died by suicide, police said.

According to the complaint filed by Salma Mehboob Khan (55), a housekeeper residing at Nuru Godiwali Chawl, her daughter Najma Nawab Warsi (37) was attacked by her husband Nawab Warsi (42) at their home in Kekwali Gali, Behrampada.


Police said that Nawab allegedly stabbed Najma in the neck and on the face with a sharp knife, leading to her death. He later used an electric light wire to end his own life. Both were declared dead at Mumbai's Sion Hospital.



The knife used in the crime and the electric wire were recovered from the spot.

The Nirmal Nagar police are now investigating the sequence of events and the reason behind the domestic dispute that escalated into the murder-suicide.
