Are you happy with the new state-of-the-art weapons?
Yes. But it's more about the men who will wield them, especially the local Marathi policemen who are prepared to lay down their lives for the state.

Local?

The local policemen have resolved to protect Mumbai at any cost. This is what gives them an edge over their counterparts like the NSG commandos.
Are you saying local commandos can fight better than NSG jawans?
It's not about who is better. The spirits of local commandos are high after 26/11.
NSG commandos too will complete any operation, but it would be a routine job for them. Fighting for the state is a matter of pride for local commandos. They have also been whipped into shape.
So the morale of local commandos is very high.
Yes. Just talk to any of the 450 commandos from the Regional Quick Response Team and you will realise most of them are confident of neutralising any terror attack in less than 30 minutes.
Do you think the latest weaponry is sufficient?
We have the best weapons, but we will add some more. We will also improve the skills of local commandos with advanced training.
What are the areas you are looking at?
We will ensure that our commandos are mentally tougher.
