Says the 26/11 victim whose case led to Advocate Anjali Waghmare's ouster from Qasab's trialu00a0

He was at the centre of the storm that led to the surprise exit of advocate Anjali Waghmare from the country's most-awaited trial. Waghmare was ousted as Qasab's lawyer on the grounds of professional misconduct.

Harishchandra Shrivar-dhankar (58), the 26/11 victim, whom the lawyer was to represent, felt that Waghmare paid the price for keeping the court and her clients in the dark.u00a0

"I'm happy that her celebrity status has gone. She should have kept the court and me in the loop," he said.
He said Waghmare, who was appointed by the state legal cell to represent Shrivardhankar, was very helpful in the beginning, but changed her ways after she was appointed Qasab's lawyer.

"Waghmare stopped answering my calls and she never met me after the media attention," said Shrivardh-ankar. According to him, Waghmare is a smart and capable lawyer, but her only fault was that she hid the truth.

The state legal aid cell on February 5 had appointed Waghmare as Shrivardh-ankar's lawyer. He was shot by Qasab at Cama Hospital on November 26, 2008, and was unhappy with the Rs 50,000 compensation received from the state.
