Terrorist organisation Indian Mujahideen has been considered the brain behind several blasts throughout the country between 2005 and 2008. Although the police have arrested several members, others, including the conspirators and founder of Indian Mujahideen, Amir Rja Khan and the Bhatkal brothers of Riyaz and Iqbal, are absconding.

According to the Mumbai police chargesheet, the IM members are in touch with India's most wanted terrorists in Pakistan and are being backed by the ISI. The chargesheet filed shows 21 arrests made and 6 people wanted.

Gujarat, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Uttar Pradesh, Jaipur and Delhi police have also filed similar chargesheets.

The Delhi police have arrested around 45 people while Gujarat police have arrested 43 people. But the biggest worry for the police is to nab 40 more accused who are wanted in the case. According to a crime branch officer, there are around 100 more members of IM on the run across India.

Ashish Bhatia, joint commissioner of police (Crime) said, "We have arrested around 43 people, but more than 40 are in the wanted list. Some of those arrested by police were wanted by Mumbai, Delhi and other cities."

Similarly, Sanjeev Yadav, assistant commissioner of police, said, "We have arrested over 40 accused against whom three chargesheets have been already filed and there are more to come."
