We wish for transparent governance, less red-tapism and implementation of laws
It’s time to look back; it’s time to take stock. A quick rewind is bound to prove that assurances given over the last 12 months need reviewing. Some of the promises made continue to be only on paper.

The speed with which the government managed to clear proposals to erect memorials in honour of political leaders is the same speed we expect when proposals concerning infrastructure and health facilities are to be implemented.
This may mean that you stop handling your team and bureaucracy with kid gloves, set the erring right, and punish those found guilty. Have them realise that public servants are answerable to the common man because it’s he who pays their salaries via taxes.
Transparent governance is what we wish becomes this government’s hallmark. We have laws; now, ensure they are implemented in the interest of the people. Reduce red tape further than you have; leave no room for the corrupt to take advantage.
Infighting is not just self-destructive, it’s also bad PR. The BJP and Shiv Sena — allies always at each other’s throat — are now synonymous with dissension. And that decisions and policies suffer on account of this makes it an issue that concerns the state.
Can the two parties set aside their differences like mature adults and work in tandem for public welfare? Impossible? But that is what voters will expect from you in 2019, when you approach them for support.
And yes, rid yourself of the 2014 hangover of winning hands down. Power is never permanent. What helps governments to hold on to it is bettering their performance every term to match public expectation.
