A transport company (name withheld) that runs regular bus services in the state, particularly to Kolhapur, has come under the scanner of DRI officials in the case.u00a0The transport company is partially owned by some politicians and a retired IPS officer. The huge consignment of drugs was found in the cavity of one of their buses.
Two arrested
Two people have been arrested, but their names have been withheld until further investigations. Sources believe that they are likely to use their clout to scuttle the links leading to them. Initially, the DRI officials were tracking the consignment, contemplating that it could be exchanged for fake currencies in the city. Therefore, a team of officers was keeping tabs on the transport company for the past few days, before they scooped on the traffickers yesterday. Officials are also checking out whether the drugs have originated from Kashmir and have Pakistani ISI links.
