Those heading to the Bandra-Worli Sea Link (BWSL) were in for a surprise last night as the route was closed from midnight to 5 am this morning.

After three road mishaps on the BWSL last week, the MMRDA has decided to put radium reflectors along the Sea Link to avert further casualties.

The work will continue tomorrow as well and BWSL will be out of bounds post 12 am.

"I booked a return pass in the morning, but was not informed about the repair work. It's a waste of money."

Keeping commuters at bay kept Bandra police's night patrolling team on their toes till the wee hours.

Head constable R Jadhav of Bandra police station said, "We had to stand all night to avert traffic. This ideally should be the traffic department's duty."
