Commenting on the rising number of patients visiting the medical facility, KEM hospital dean Dr Shubhangi Parkar said the number of asthma patients visiting the hospital during this time of the year is always high. Shivani Shaha, a resident of Powai, said, “I’m an asthmatic and my condition worsens during this time of the year. The constantly changing weather forces me to carry the inhaler wherever I go, all the time.”

Dr Arvind Kate, chest specialist at the Fortis Hiranandani Hospital, said, “People with a history of asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease must take extra precaution.” Paediatrician Dr Pradnya Gadgi from Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital said parents must take extra care of their children, especially of the ones suffering from respiratory disorders.
