The Mumbai Fire Brigade added six Mercedes-Benz New Actros trucks to its fleet yesterday.

The heavy-end trucks are among the most technologically advanced vehicles available in India and sell at the starting cost of Rs 65 lakh a vehicle.

"We haven't ever given the drivers a thought, but the new truck will greatly enable them to navigate quickly to where the spot is," said Chief Fire Officer P D Karguppikar.
