Australian speedster Brett Lee can now finally strum some happy chords on his guitar. Nearly four months after he was allegedly cheated of Rs 10 lakh by a city-based fusion band, the MRA Marg police have reacted to his complaint.

The MRA Marg police officials called Samir Phadnis, the chief operating officer of Next Level Media Communications (NLMC), which handles Lee's PR in the city. "I received a call from sub-inspector Ismail Korbo and he recorded my statement. But I still don't understand why it took them such a long time to react. After four months of running from pillar to post, I have been diverted to the same officers whom I approached in the beginning to register my complaint."
The entire issue arose in May, when Lee strummed his guitar for The M-Majors at Inorbit mall and made them a big hit.

However, after the performance, it appeared as if the band did not think Lee's efforts merited much and allegedly refused to pay the paceman his just dues making his representatives sweat in order to recover around $20,000 ('Rockstar Brett Lee cheated of Rs 10 lakh',u00a0September 24).
Senior lawyer Ashok Shahani, who is representing NLMC, said, "For the police, this is not a serious enough matter. However, sportsmen are important and they should not be treated ordinarily."
Meanwhile, Arundhati Deshmukh, the lead singer of M-Majors and daughter of a well-known businessman from Thane has approached the Sessions Court seeking anticipatory bail, fearing she might get arrested on the charges of cheating.
The court has postponed the hearing till today and asked the police to file their say in the matter.u00a0
