Court issues notice to arrested in rave party

A sessions court here has issued a notice over the non-appearance of an Israeli disc jockey who was allegedly involved in a rave party in a suburban discotheque of Mumbai last year, a senior police official said on Monday.

Ben Simon, who was arrested by the police during a raid on a rave party in suburban Juhu last year, has failed to appear before the court during the last two appearances, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Anti-Narcotics Cell) Vishwas Nangre Patil said.

"We have approached the Special Branch of the police in connection with his failure to appear before the court for assistance in tracing his whereabouts," he said.

Simon, who is known as Technodrome, was arrested when police raided a discotheque, Bombay 72 Degree East in suburban Juhu in October last.

The Israeli national was granted bail by a special NDPS court approximately two months following his arrest. Seven others have also been charged with selling narcotics at the discotheque.

Forensic tests carried out had also revealed that 227 persons caught there had consumed narcotics.
