Jaiswal was released from jail five months ago and was staying with his brother at Golibar in Santacruz (east). Gupta got out of jail a week ago and met Jaiswal and began to stay with him at Santacruz. While Jaiswal was asleep on Monday night, Gupta overpowered him, sexually assaulted him and then fled from the spot, only to return in the morning.

Meanwhile, Jaiswal approached the Vakola police station and registered a complaint against Gupta, who was arrested upon his return.

A police officer from the Vakola police station said, “We have arrested Gupta under Section 377 (unnatural sex) under the IPC. He was produced at Bandra Court on Tuesday and has been remanded in police custody. The victim needs medical attention and is in hospital. We will send him to Nagpada police hospital for a medical check up soon.”u00a0
