In a suspected case of suicide, a 22-year-old youth from Delhi was found dead at a beach in suburban Juhu here, police said today. The deceased identified as Anmol Sandal was found dead at 10.30 PM yesterday, they said. "It appears that Anmol committed suicide in the sea.
The body then floated to the shore. There were no external injuries," said Shankar Olekar, Sub Inspector at Santacruz Police Station. According to police, Anmol along with his brother had come to Mumbai on Saturday for 'Rakhi' festival as his sister stays in suburban Malad here.
"Yesterday, Anmol along with other family members reached their uncle's house at Oshiwara. At about 8 PM, he left home. As he did not come back home, the family launched a search for him and then registered a missing person's complaint at about 12.10 AM today at Oshiwara police station," Olekar added.
A body was spotted at about 10.30 PM and upon verification, it was identified as that of Anmol. "The family members said Anmol was suffering from depression," Olekar said, adding, an accidental death case was registered at Santacruz Police Station.
