attended by Deputy CM Ajit Pawar

"The SEC has slapped notices on Pawar and Rajpal after complaints of violation of the code of conduct on Tuesday. Pawar had performed the groundbreaking ceremony of a flyover on the Mumbai-Pune NH-4," said an SEC official, requesting anonymity.

State Election Comm-issioner Neela Satyanarayan, had asked Pune Divisional Commissioner Prabhakar Deshmukh to investigate the complaints of violation of the code of conduct. Officials said no clearance was taken from the SEC for the ceremony.

The Shiv Sena had lodged a complaint with the SEC, arguing Pawar had attended the function well after the poll code kicked in at 3.30 pm.
