Three weeks after two robbers shot dead the owner of Bharat Steel Yard and his cousin, it has been revealed that one of the two servants present in the room with the owner was an accomplice.

He had instructed the robbers to slap him before burglarising the place so his employer would not suspect him.
He had been working in Bharat Steel Yard, an iron-and-steel trading firm, for the past seven years.
After the incident, he registered an FIR in the police station and, along with the other servant who is a prime witness, helped the police draw sketches of the accused.
In his confession, Pawar told police that he had planned to rob his employer.
"An hour before the incident, he met the killers in the same area and scripted the entire plot. He instructed them, 'After you enter the shop, I will ask what you want.

Then, you will slap me.' He even told the killers that he would chase them so his employer or the police do not suspect him," said one of the officers of the investigation team. All the accused had played their scripted roles.
"Police found discrepancies in Pawar's statement.
Following sustained interrogation, he broke down and confessed to be one of the conspirators," said a police officer, on condition of anonymity. Pawar, a complainant in the case, has been remanded to police custody till August 2.
The two accused, in their late 20s, and identified as Santosh and Rajesh, are absconding.
