Sharada Dwivedi, the Mumbai-based historian and researcher, has passed away. She was 69.
Author of several books on the history and culture of Mumbai, she was also on the panel of the Mumbai Heritage Conservation Committee. Among her most famous works is Bombay, the Cities Within (1995).
According to sources at Bombay Hospital, Dwivedi was brought to the casualty ward by her husband and daughter at 11 am, Februray 6, where she was declared dead before admission. Dr J Sorabjee, senior physician attached to the hospital, examined her and declared her dead.
Hospital sources revealed she could have died because of cerebral hemorrage. The funeral is scheduled for Tuesday, February 7.
