Housewife commits suicide, husband arrested

A 25-year-old housewife, Kusum Lakshman Rao, commits suicide at her residence at MSRB, Railway Quarters, Kranti Nagar in Kurla by hanging herself with a ceiling fan on April 23. Kusum took the extreme step after her husband, Lakshman Vasudev Rao (34), provoked her, doubting an extra marital affair.

A 25-year-old housewife, Kusum Lakshman Rao, committed suicide at her residence at MSRB, Railway Quarters, Kranti Nagar in Kurla by hanging herself with a ceiling fan on April 23. Kusum took the extreme step after her husband, Lakshman Vasudev Rao (34), provoked her, doubting an extra marital affair.

According to Nehru Nagar police, the complain was lodged by Kusum's father Jaganath Bachla (63)u00a0yesterday against Lakshman after receiving the post mortem report, which confirmed that it was a suicide,

"We have arrested Kusum's husband and booked him under Section 498a and 306 of the IPC for subjecting her to cruelty. He will presented in front of the court today," said a official from the Nehru Nagar police station.
