The Mumbai police control room has received three calls in the past six days, threatening to carry out bomb blasts in the city. Off these, two callers threatened to bomb the RBI headquarters, while in the third call, which was made on Saturday, the caller claimed to be an ISI agent and threatened to bomb many places in the city. Officials from the Azad Maidan police are investigating the matter.

According to the police, on June 26, the main control room received two calls at different times. In the first, the caller threatened to bomb the RBI building located near the old Customs House. Officials from the MRA Marg police checked the highly sensitive RBI head office thoroughly, but nothing suspicious was found.
A non-cognisable offence was lodged with the Azad Maidan police station. After some hours another call was received by the control room, threatening to blow up the RBI building. Another separate NC was lodged in connection with this.
While the police were trying to obtain details of the anonymous callers, on Saturday another threat call was received by the Mumbai police control room. “This time the caller identified himself as an ISI (Pakistan’s Inter Services Intelligence) agent and threatened to carry out bomb blasts,” said an officer from the Azad Maidan police station.
Following the threat calls, security was beefed up at major installations in south Mumbai.
