On June 27, we had raised the issues of illegal buildings, encroachments of pavements and shortage of water in the 2.84-sqkm ward. Hawkers and dilapidated buildings still block streets. Most of the unauthorised buildings are also fire hazards.


Roads are littered with garbage. Residents faced a harrowing time commuting through such filth during the monsoon. With over 1.4 lakh residents, the number of illegal constructions continues to grow.
