The supervisor of a private company situated in MIDC allegedly molested a female colleague inside the company lift. The case was registered with the MIDC police on Monday.

The accused, Rajesh Mewala Sharma, works with the firm as a supervisor while the woman works as a help. On Monday evening, Sharma and the victim left for home and were in the same lift. Here, Sharma allegedly touched the woman inappropriately.

The woman went straight to the MIDC police and registered a case under Section 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the IPC.

Cops arrested the accused on the same night from his Powai residence, where he stays with his family. He was produced in Andheri court on Tuesday. The woman is still in a state of shock, added cops.
