In a tragic incident, a 22-year-old woman committed suicide after he boyfriend refused to marry her as he had promised. The police say that the girl had blamed the man and his mother for her suicide in a note she left behind. The Saki Naka police have file an FIR against the man and his mother under section 306 of the Indian Penal Code after the girl’s father complained about the duo as per reports by the Hindustan Times.

On the evening of November 16, the girl, a resident of Saki Naka was alone at home when he hung herself in her home in Narayan Mayekar chawl. She left behind a suicide note blaming her boyfriend and mother for pushing her to take the drastic step. Her family said that they were not aware of the relationship until they read about it in their daughter’s suicide note. As per the police, the girl was employed in a private firm and her boyfriend belonged to a different religion. They were in a relationship for one year after they met at work. The man allegedly promised to marry her but backed off from the promise on the behest of his mother.
A police official said, “We are verifying the allegations made by the victim’s father. We have asked him to furnish all evidence he has to back his allegations. We have her suicide note as well. We will decide the further course of action based on what comes out in our investigation.”
