Amid the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the city, a woman employee of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) was allegedly beaten after she asked a woman to wear a mask. The alleged incident took place on Wednesday near Bhandup railway station.

According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, the incident took place when the contractual employee was on a drive along with her team to penalise those moving out without masks. In view of the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the city, the civic body has made it mandatory for everyone to wear a mask which helps to keep the virus at bay.
