According to the police, on July 25 around 6.30 pm a man introducing himself as Shrivastav, called Potdar Tyre Limited on New Marine Lines and spoke to company director Anup Kumar Potdar. He mentioned an orchestra show at Shanmukhananda Hall, Sion on July 27 at 8 pm, for which he sought Potdar’s financial help.

The man told Potdar that the orchestra had been organised by the Sai Kripa Jan Seva Trust for charity and that he was sending his colleague over with five tickets costing Rs 5,000 each.

Suspecting something fishy, Potdar called Shanmukhananda Hall and inquired about a show called ‘New Star Music Melody.’ He was shocked when the hall management told him there was no show slated for that day. So when the woman, Harsora, arrived, Potdar kept her busy in conversation and even bought a ticket for Rs 5,000. Potdar then asked Harsora to sit in his car and drove her towards the police station.

Realising her game was up, Harsora jumped out of the car and tried to flee but Potdar’s security guard Sitaram More caught her and handed her over to the police. “We have arrested Harsora and booked her under section 420 and 34 of IPC. We have also recovered five more fake tickets from her possession,” said an officer of Azad Maidan police station.u00a0
