Kurla police station officials successfully busted a gang of three bike thieves yesterday.

Kurla police station officials successfully busted a gang of three bike thieves yesterday. Two of the arrested accused were identified as Anas Mohammad Nasir and Alif Mohammad Shafiq, while the third member, Arif is absconding.

According to police officials, all three of them are mechanics by profession. An officer from the Kurla police station said, “We got  a tip-off about the robbery and we sent our team to their mechanic shop in Kurla. The two arrested have confessed to the crime.”
The gang would steal bikes in the wee hours of morning and then dismantle them. The  arrested have been booked under IPC Section 379 (punishment for theft) and have now been remanded to judicial custody.
