A dumper travelling on the Mankhurd Station Bridge on the Sion-Panvel Highway lost control on Saturday morning at 3.30 am, breaking the road's barricades. It hurtled off the road and fell near a hut.

While the dumper, which was carrying mud, narrowly missed causing major damage to the row of shanties or casualties, four people – the driver and cleaner of the dumper and two sisters residing in the hut - were injured in the incident.

The driver has been booked by Mankhurd police for negligent driving.
