FSSAI’s West Region marked Anti-Obesity Day 2025 with a collaborative event at Mumbai University, featuring actor and health advocate Isha Koppikar as the chief guest. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about obesity prevention and promote active lifestyles.

The programme opened with BMI check-ups, followed by a high-energy Zumba session. Koppikar later flagged off a Walkathon, encouraging participants to adopt consistent fitness routines.

Dietitian Jayashree Paranjpe delivered an expert talk on rising obesity trends and preventive measures, stressing the need for informed dietary habits. The event also saw the launch of an awareness video featuring Koppikar.

Regional Director Pritee Chaudhary underscored the constitutional mandate to improve nutritional levels across the country, emphasising the role of public initiatives in fostering a healthier population.

The walkathon and a series of fitness-themed competitions rounded off the event.
