Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut on Friday reacted sharply to the emerging results of the Bihar Elections 2025, which have drawn nationwide attention. Taking to X, Raut claimed the outcome was predictable and likened it to the “Maharashtra pattern” seen in the 2024 Maharashtra polls.
“There is no need to be shocked by the results of the Bihar Assembly elections,” Raut wrote. “Looking at the national agenda being carried out hand-in-hand by the Election Commission and the BJP, a different outcome than this was simply not possible. A complete Maharashtra pattern! Those who were certain to come to power were wiped out within 50!”

According to the Election Commission’s website, the BJP was ahead in over 80 of the 101 seats it contested — a performance that could significantly reinforce its national political dominance, compensating for any perceived setback in last year’s Lok Sabha polls.
The strong showing in Bihar follows the BJP’s impressive recent performances in Delhi, Maharashtra and Haryana.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s unwavering support for Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also appeared to have boosted the JD(U), which was leading in more than 70 seats — a substantial improvement from its 2020 tally of 43.
The LJP (Ram Vilas), led by Union Minister Chirag Paswan, was ahead in over 20 seats despite contesting only 29, marking a particularly strong performance.
In contrast, the RJD — which has long touted its status as the “single largest party” — was trailing with leads in fewer than 40 of the 140-plus seats it contested. The Congress, which fought 61 seats and even entered “friendly fights” with allies in several constituencies, was leading in fewer than 10.
If the trends hold, the BJP will surpass the JD(U) in seat share for the second consecutive assembly election, a development that could intensify internal demands within the party for installing a BJP chief minister.
