A 38-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with the revolver outside Malhar Cinema in Thane.

According to the police officials, the victim, identified as Rohit Jayantilal Shah, allegedly shot himself on Wednesday at 10pm since he was depressed due to incurring heavy losses in cricket betting.


Police sub-inspector Patil from Naupada Police station said, “The revolver with which he shot himself was not his but one his friend's and the investigations till now has revealed that the businessman was in depression after losing his money in cricket betting.”



He added, “He was with his friend at Malhar Cinema and when his friend turned to buy cigarettes, he shot himself.” u00a0
