The Crime Branch yesterday arrested actor Kader Khan's nephew Baitullah Khan in connection with abductingu00a0 Salman Khan's trainer Abdulla Khan, which MiD DAY reported yesterday.
Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Rakesh Maria confirmed the arrest of Baitullah and another key associate Ali Reza. The two have been remanded to police custody till May 19.
Maria said Reza and Baitullah were acting at the behest of Chhota Rajan's right-hand-man D K Rao, a close associate of matka kingpin Hitesh Bhagat, who is currently at Arthur Road jail.
The matter came to the fore after Abdulla told the police that there was an attempt to kidnap him at Bandra on April 26.
Abdulla had named Baitullah Khan, Ali Reza, Parvez Sayyed and five unidentified men in the FIR.
