On Saturday, BJP MLA Ram Kadam criticised Rahul Gandhi’s recent comments on the Bihar polls, accusing the Gandhi family of misusing power for personal gain and alleging that Congress is certain to face defeat in the state. Kadam accused the Gandhi family of “looting in the greed of power”. Kadam claimed that the party is already looking for ways to justify its potential loss in the state.

His response followed Rahul Gandhi’s charge that the Election Commission of India was plotting to manipulate the upcoming Bihar elections and “hatching a conspiracy” for “chunav chori [election theft]” in Bihar. While speaking at an event in Bhubaneswar, Gandhi had alleged that the ECI was acting in favour of the BJP by altering the voter rolls in Bihar, similar to what he claimed happened in Maharashtra, where he argued that a suspiciously large number of new voters appeared on the electoral rolls.
