The Maharashtra Common Entrance Test Cell (CET) has announced that in the upcoming academic year, the entrance examinations for three courses — PCM (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics), PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology), and MBA (Master of Business Administration) — will be conducted twice. The first exam will be held in April 2026, and the second a month later, Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil stated.

A review meeting on the CET exams was held on Tuesday under Patil’s chairmanship. Higher and Technical Education Department Additional Chief Secretary B Venugopal Reddy, CET Cell Commissioner Dilip Sardesai, Higher Education Director Dr Shailendra Devalankar, Technical Education Director Dr Vinod Mohitkar, Higher Education Deputy Secretary Ashok Mande, Deputy Secretary Pratap Lubal were among the officials who attended the meeting.

The minister said that at the national level, JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) conducts two entrance exams, giving students twice to qualify. Similarly, students in Maharashtra will also get two chances through these CET exams.

Appearing for one CET will be mandatory, while the second exam will be optional. If a student appears for both, the higher of the two scores will be considered for admission.

The detailed schedule for the exams will be announced soon by the CET Cell.
