Voters in Dombivli began arriving early along Savarkar Road in Dombivli East from 7 am on Wednesday, eager to cast their ballots. However, some initial confusion was observed as polling at a few booths commenced around 7.30 am, prompting voters to enquire about the exact locations of their designated polling rooms.

First votes cast at Sangita Vidyalaya polling centre

At Sangita Vidyalaya on Savarkar Road, the first voters to exercise their franchise were Vishal Purohit, his sister Sakshi Purohit, and their mother Kalpana Purohit. Notably, their names were listed in two different polling rooms within the same centre.

Family plans to vote early in the day

After voting, Vishal said the family had consciously planned to vote early. “I told my mother and sister that we should vote first thing in the morning, and we have done that,” he said.

Senior citizens lead early voter turnout

Across polling centres in and around Savarkar Road, a large turnout of senior citizens was witnessed in the early hours, as they arrived promptly to participate in the electoral process.
