In a significant move aimed at improving public transport convenience, the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) launched a new app, “Aapli ST”, designed to provide real-time tracking of State Transport (ST) buses across the state. The launch coincided with Dussehra celebrations and is expected to enhance the commuting experience for thousands of passengers who rely on ST services daily.

The app was unveiled by Transport Minister and MSRTC Chairman Pratap Sarnaik, who highlighted its potential to make travel more seamless, transparent, and commuter-friendly. “This app is a step forward in providing reliable, safe, and efficient services to our passengers,” Sarnaik said, appealing to users to report any technical issues during the initial phase to help refine the system further.

Developed in collaboration with Rozmalta Autotech Ltd., the “Aapli ST” app has already mapped over 12,000 buses and 100,000 routes across Maharashtra, making it one of the most comprehensive public transport tracking systems in the country. Passengers can use the app to access information about the nearest bus stop, view real-time bus departure and arrival updates, and track buses live using reservation ticket details, bus numbers, or service numbers. This feature is expected to significantly reduce waiting times at bus stops, as commuters can now plan their arrival based on actual bus locations rather than fixed schedules. The app is available for both Android and iOS users, ensuring wide accessibility across devices.

Currently, live data is available for over 12,000 buses, and MSRTC plans to integrate the remaining fleet in phases. In addition, the existing MSRTC ticket-booking app will soon incorporate live bus-tracking features, allowing passengers who book tickets in advance to monitor their bus in real time.

Minister Sarnaik emphasized that the “Aapli ST” initiative is part of MSRTC’s broader vision of offering reliable, safe, and transparent services to passengers. He encouraged commuters to provide feedback and suggestions to help improve the app, stating that continuous updates would ensure it meets the evolving needs of Maharashtra’s passengers.

The app can currently be downloaded from the Google Play Store under the MSRTC Commuter App name, and it will soon be officially rebranded as “Aapli ST.” With this launch, Maharashtra takes a major step towards modernizing public transportation and offering commuters a digital, real-time solution to streamline daily travel.
