Currently, the Vasai Virar City Municipal Corporation’s fire brigade has reached the scene and is working to bring the blaze under control. The factory was being used for the production of textiles, and the presence of cloth has caused the fire to spread rapidly, said a local source.
While no casualties have been reported in the fire, a pedestrian who stood by the road to watch the fire on the highway was hit by a truck and died on the spot, said the source.
