Mumbai: Another accident on Bandra-Worli sea link, no casualty this time

A Baleno hit a Wagon R, which belonged to a cab aggregator, from behind

Barely three days after a major accident took place at the Bandra Worli Sea Link which killed five people and injured nine others, another accident took place on the same stretch in the early morning hours on Saturday. Fortunately, no one was injured in the accident this time. Taking lessons from the previous crash, this time though, the north-bound arm of the Sea Link where the accident took place was closed for a brief period, said officials. 


As per the Bandra police officials, a Wagon R, which belonged to a cab aggregator met with an accident when it was hit by a Baleno coming from behind, resuling in the Wagon R toppling over. Senior inspector Rajesh Devare of the Bandra police station confirmed the incident.

According to the police, the cab driver was changing lanes when it got hit. At the time of accident, two passengers were there in the cab, however, neither of them received any injuries in the accident, which took place around 2 am in the morning, approximately 100 metres from the toll plaza. 

Soon after the incident was reported, the toll plaza employees and the police rushed to the spot and the traffic on the road was halted for a short while. Since no one was injured and non of the parties have any complaints against each other, a Traffic Accident Diary (TAD) has been registered, said the police officials.
