The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has announced a 24-hour water cut in several parts of the ‘A’, ‘B’, and ‘E’ administrative wards from 10 am on Wednesday to 10 am on Thursday.
In some areas, water will be supplied at low pressure during this period.
The disruption is due to planned pipeline upgrade work in the E Ward.
Under this project, the old 1,200 mm diameter water main at Nawanagar and Dockyard Road will be decommissioned and replaced with a new pipeline of the same size. In addition, old 900 mm valves at Bhandarwada reservoir's Compartment 1 will be replaced with new ones.
The BMC has urged residents to store water in advance and use it judiciously during the water cut. After the completion of work, residents may experience low-pressure or slightly muddy water for the next couple of days. Citizens are advised to filter and boil water before use as a precaution.
