Deputy Commissioner of Police, zone 9, Abhishek Trimukhe filed a defamation case before the Mumbai sessions court on Wednesday against Republic TV CEO Arnab Goswami, his wife Samyabrata Goswami and his company ARG Outlier Media Pvt Ltd.
Trimukhe has accused them of defaming him during their coverage in the Sushant Singh Rajput suicide case. The DCP’s application states that they had misrepresented facts during the coverage of the case.
The complaint has been filed under sections 499 (defamation ), 500 (punishment for defamation) and 501 (printing or engraving matter known to be defamatory) of the Indian Penal Code.
