In a shocking incident, hundreds of dead fish were found floating on the surface of Bhujale Lake in Malad since last night, sparking concern among local residents and environmentalists.

The cause of the mass fish death remains unclear, and civic authorities are expected to conduct an investigation to determine the reason behind the incident.

Bhujale Lake, a key water body in Malad, is a popular site for Ganpati idol immersions, drawing thousands of devotees from Malad and neighbouring areas during the Ganesh Chaturthi festival each year.

Authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the matter.
