The Western Railway, while sharing Mumbai local train updates, on Friday said that it will operate a five-hour jumbo block between Santacruz and Goregaon stations.

An official statement said that the block will be operated on the up and down slow lines from 10 am to 3 pm on Sunday, November 9, 2025, to carry out essential maintenance work on tracks, signalling and overhead equipment.

According to Chief Public Relations Officer Vineet Abhishek, during this period, all slow line suburban trains will run on the fast lines between Santacruz and Goregaon. These trains will not halt at Vile Parle due to short platforms, and will also skip Ram Mandir as platforms on the fast line are unavailable.

However, passengers can use harbour line services at Vile Parle and Ram Mandir during this time.

Some suburban services will be cancelled, while Borivali and Andheri trains on the harbour line will operate only up to Goregaon.

Commuters are advised to check updated train schedules with local station masters and plan their journeys accordingly. Western Railway has requested passengers to cooperate with the temporary changes, stating that the block is necessary for infrastructure upkeep and safety.

Meanwhile, Central Railway’s Mumbai division said that it will carry out a mega block on its suburban sections on Sunday, for essential engineering and maintenance work.

According to an official statement, on the main line, fast line services between Matunga and Mulund will be affected. Down fast trains leaving CSMT between 10:36 hrs and 15:10 hrs will be diverted to the down slow line at Matunga, halting at scheduled stations and arriving 15 minutes late.

Similarly, up fast trains leaving Thane between 11:03 hrs and 15:38 hrs will be diverted to the up slow line at Mulund, halting at stations en route and arriving 15 minutes late.

On the Harbour Line, up and down services between Kurla and Vashi from 11:10 hrs to 16:10 hrs will be affected. Down Harbour Line services to Vashi, Belapur, and Panvel from 10:34 hrs to 15:36 hrs, and up services from Panvel, Belapur, and Vashi from 10:17 hrs to 15:47 hrs will be cancelled, it said.

Special suburban trains will run between CSMT-Kurla and Panvel-Vashi during the block period. Passengers may travel between Thane and Vashi/Nerul stations from 10:00 hrs to 18:00 hrs.

Central Railway has urged passengers to plan their journeys in advance and bear with the temporary inconvenience, stressing that these blocks are essential for infrastructure upkeep and safety.
