The Maharashtra State Commission for Protection of Child Rights on Friday asked Akash Nayak, parent of a class II student from Mira Road's RBK School, to submit his complaint in the required format. Nayak approached the commission on June 12 after the school asked him to withdraw the child's admission following non-payment of fees. Nayak hadn't paid the fees as he has been protesting additional admission fees that had been charged in 2016. He hasn't paid the fees for the new academic year either.

The commission asked him to submit the complaint in a format using legal language, within 10 days.

In June, mid-day had reported about Nayak's complaint alleging that his daughter was not allowed to sit in her classroom when the school reopened after the summer break.

The commission chairperson, Pravin Ghuge, said, "It's only after the complainant follows appropriate processes, that we can look into the matter."

The school's advocate Vinod Talreja, responded with a written statement: "Without referring to order of admission if publication/comments are made by your newspaper or us on behalf of our client or even by our client, then such publication and/or comments will only intermeddle with course of justice."
