The Kandivali Traffic Division of Mumbai Police on Monday announced the temporary closure of Datta Mandir Road, between Mahatma Gandhi Road and Dahanukarwadi Road, to facilitate road concretisation work.

The road closure will be in effect for one month from the date of notification and applies to all types of vehicular traffic, a traffic police notification said.

It said that the decision has been to ensure the work is completed efficiently and safely.

The police has also issued alternative route details for motorists.

The notification said that vehicles travelling from Mahatma Gandhi Road towards Dahanukarwadi Road are advised to take the alternative route via Dahanukarwadi Junction, New Link Road, Metro Pillar 2A/297, and then onto Dahanukarwadi Road.

"Commuters are urged to plan their journeys accordingly and follow traffic guidelines," the police said.
