The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) led by Sharad Pawar criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday for accusing the INDIA bloc of performing "mujra" to secure votes, questioning if such language is appropriate for a Prime Minister.

During election rallies in Bihar, Modi claimed he would prevent the INDIA bloc from allegedly depriving Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs), and Other Backward Classes (OBCs) of their rights in favour of Muslims. "They may remain enslaved and perform 'mujra' to please their vote bank," Modi said.

NCP spokesperson Clyde Crasto questioned Modi's repeated use of words starting with 'M' in his comments. On social media platform X, Crasto posted, "What is this fascination with the alphabet 'M'? Musalman, Machli, Mangalsutra, Mutton... now '#MUJRA'. Is it fitting for the Prime Minister of India to speak like this?"

Crasto's comment refers to Modi's previous controversial remarks, suggesting a pattern in the Prime Minister's rhetoric.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking at rallies in Buxar, Karakat, and Patliputra Lok Sabha constituencies, slammed the INDIA bloc for allegedly diverting SC, ST, and OBC reservations to Muslims. He accused them of "enslavement" and carrying out "mujra" to gain Muslim votes.

Modi said he would foil these efforts, claiming, "Bihar is the land that has given a new direction to the fight for social justice. I shall foil the INDIA bloc's efforts to deprive SCs, STs, and OBCs of their rights and transfer them to Muslims. They may remain enslaved and perform'mujra' to appease their voting base."

The Prime Minister also accused the opposition coalition of "scaremongering" and claimed that he was working "without fear" to combat terrorism and corruption. Modi further claimed that officials of the Congress and affiliated parties had insulted Bihari migrants and that local RJD leaders lacked the courage to resist. He warned that if the opposition gained control, they would rewrite the Constitution to shield their schemes from court scrutiny.

He criticised the opposition for relying on "vote jihad" and claimed they were plotting to alter the Constitution. "I have been challenging them to refute me in writing but they have been reluctant because they have a guilty conscience," Modi said. He listed various castes, including Yadavs, who could lose their constitutional rights if the INDIA bloc succeeded in its plans.

Modi predicted the opposition coalition's defeat, saying, "On June 04 when the results will be out, RJD and Congress workers will be seen tearing off each other's clothes. The 'shahi parivar' (royal family) of the Congress will put the entire blame of defeat on Mallikarjun Kharge and leave for a vacation abroad."
