In a major setback to the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) efforts to cut Shiv Sena to size by forcing it to toe the line, the long-time ally is all set to quit National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Anant Gite, the only Sena minister in Narendra Modi-led cabinet has been asked to submit his papers, sources from the party said. At the state level, Shiv Sena has decided to sit in opposition as none of its demands were met, be it for 14 to 12 cabinet berths and two berths in union cabinet, sources said.

A senior BJP leader said those were pressure tactics by Sena and everything will be sorted out amicably.
